Travel Baseball is not a requirement for those that simply want to play Spring Rec.  Travel is an extra opportunity to play competitive baseball above and beyond our core Spring Rec Baseball program. In an effort to standardize the Travel experience and to become more competitive, those players interested in playing Travel Baseball in the 2023 season will be required to register and tryout in the Fall of 2022 for the next year. This is very similar to club-type programs. These tryouts are scheduled for Saturday November 5th at the Green Brook Baseball fields. The tryout process will be standardized and independent to ensure impartiality in the travel selection process. Complete tryout information is listed at the bottom of this email.

Please note, Registration for a 2023 Spring Rec Program is a requirement in order to register/be considered for Travel Baseball in the 2023 season.

The Travel registration cost will cover a 10-game travel schedule in the Spring of 2021. These games are usually on Sundays but will be scheduled around the Spring Rec season by the appropriate travel manager. We will be offering a winter training module that is included. Summer Travel Baseball will be a separate cost and a separate registration closer to that season. Separate evaluations/tryouts for Summer travel will NOT be held. Travel players for 2023 will be selected in Fall of 2022. Selections to each team are made by the President and the Player Agent.

Registration for the appropriate Travel level (8U, 9U, etc.) is required in order to try out for the 2023 travel teams. However, payment is not required up front in order to be evaluated and there is no fee to tryout. If your player is selected for the travel team, payment will be required at the time of selection in order in ensure participation.
The Green Brook Gators Travel Baseball program attempts to replicate and even exceed the typical "club" baseball experience for a fraction of the cost.  This goal is achieved in a number of ways. First, all of our coaches are volunteers with many having just as much, if not more, baseball experience than some club coaches. Second, we use our own fields so we do not have to rent out baseball fields like club programs.  Third, the Gators Travel experience meshes seamlessly with the Rec programs offered with no conflicts between the two programs to ensure more baseball games and practices being played each week. Lastly, the Gators travel team is comprised of your friends and neighbors allowing for a deep level of caring, commitment, and FUN which may not be present with many club teams. We have had members give club baseball a try only to return to the Gators because their experience did not measure up to the standard set by GB Baseball.
The age determination day for all players is April 30, 2022. Your player's age on that day is the age they are considered for age determination purposes.  Please register your player in appropriate the age bucket based on this determination date.

Currently, we do not anticipate having Spring Travel for 7U. This could change if enough 7U players express interest by trying out for the 8U team. If there is no Spring 7U travel, we will make another announcement regarding 7U Summer Travel as we get closer to that season!
